I hope you can give me some advice regarding tangs. I'm having a small problem with hair algae in my aquarium, and read that certain tangs can help reduce this algae problem. I have been interested in the powder blue tang, but have been told they are not very good eaters in captivity, they would not last more than a few months, and because they are costly, I should consider looking at a hardier type, like a yellow tang or a blue tang. I really like the sohal tang, but they are very costly, as are purple tangs. Any advice on the type of tang that would help my hair algae problem? Also, could this hair algae be caused from excess nitrates or insufficient lighting? The last time I had the nitrates checked they were at 20 to 30 parts per million. I've been having difficulty reducing the nitrates lately. My tank is 50 gallons and I have about 30 pounds of Marshall Island live rock in it.
why do my new gold fish keep dying? | Aquarium Tank Fish
Well maybe your mixing the fish and they don’t like it,or else it can be that there’s to much water I. The tank,or maybe most goldfish don’t like the filter, and a tip,you shouldn’t feed fish everyday, because my fish have lived for eight years ,because I feed them. Two times a week ! I hope no other fish die, because on new years eve my fish she was a black moor, she died and I was I tears!
…got a new tank.
that is why.
Contrare to belief gold fish are NOT easy to take care of. Their poo is toxic, causing high amounts of ammonia which leads to ammonia poisoning, and their gills burning (blackened).
Also, a new tank does not have to be completely cycled for only a betta fish… But should be anyways to avoid any diseases or stress.
For goldfish, you CAN start with a 10 gallon, FULLY CYCLED (left running without fish for 4 weeks or so) but then need to upgrade to a 20, then a 40… They get pretty big!!! So best beware! They grow, they are toxic to themselves, and so is an uncycled tank.
