Parrot Lovers Community - Budgie Troubles

My budgie, Jo, has been at the vet for three days now. I first took her in last Friday because I was sure she was egg-bound. Swollen abdomen, bulge near the vent, pinned eyes, watery droppings, awkward body hold, the works. I was really upset, of course, especially because it's only been a month since we lost another bird to eggbinding, before we even knew she was nesty again. The vet, who is not our normal awesome vet but a substitute, told us that she was just fat and needed to be on a diet. We took her home and segregated her from the flock, but she wouldn't eat at all. This is a good way to lose weight, but a bad way to stay alive, as a budgie. I tossed the diet idea out the window and tried her on anything I thought she might eat, but she only nibbled. I took her back to the vet on Monday, where she'd apparently dropped from the severely obese 63 grams the vet had recorded the first time down to her normal 45 grams. I don't know what happened there, and neither did the vet.
